IPTuner is designed to keep provider credentials and playback URLs private while using only the external services you explicitly configure.
Provider and stream data
Provider account and stream URLs are treated as secrets. Normal app diagnostics are designed not to store raw provider URLs or credentials. Diagnostic stream identifiers use a derived identifier rather than the raw URL, and URL-shaped detail text is redacted before diagnostic CSV output.
Programme reminders
Programme reminders are stored locally in app-private preferences. Reminder data can include playlist identity, durable channel identity, channel/group labels, programme title/subtitle, and scheduled times. Reminder state is not intended to store stream URLs, playlist/EPG URLs, or provider credentials.
Optional TMDB enrichment
TMDB enrichment is optional. The TMDB API Read Access Token is stored in app-private preferences using Android Keystore AES/GCM, with no plaintext fallback. When enrichment is requested from an opened Movie/Show detail page, IPTuner can send an existing TMDB media ID or a title plus release year to TMDB. TMDB can return posters, cast/profile metadata, trailer/preview metadata, and recommendation titles. IPTuner does not send IPTV provider URLs, playlist/server credentials, stream URLs, playback positions, or the full viewing history to TMDB.
Website support forms
When you submit the IPTuner website support form, the website stores the information you enter so the support request can be handled. Clean WP Contacts anonymizes IP addresses by default, does not store browser user-agent data by default, and integrates with WordPress personal-data export and erasure tools. The site administrator controls configured retention periods and mail delivery settings.
Do not send secrets to support
Please do not include provider passwords, playlist URLs containing credentials, private stream URLs, API tokens, or other secrets in support messages.
Does Configuration Backup restore my provider accounts and playlists?
No. Configuration Backup restores app configuration and intentionally excludes provider accounts/playlists.
Is TMDB required to use IPTuner?
No. TMDB is optional metadata enrichment. When configured, it can provide richer posters, cast/profile metadata, trailer/preview metadata, and supplemental recommendation titles.
What does IPTuner send to TMDB?
When enrichment is explicitly requested from an opened Movie/Show detail page, IPTuner can send an existing TMDB media ID or a title plus release year. It does not send IPTV provider URLs, playlist/server credentials, stream URLs, playback positions, or the full viewing history to TMDB.
Are provider credentials included in normal diagnostics?
They are intended to be excluded. Provider URLs and credentials are treated as secrets; diagnostic stream identifiers use derived IDs and URL-shaped detail text is redacted before diagnostic CSV output.
What should I avoid sending in a support request?
Do not send provider usernames or passwords, playlist URLs containing credentials, private stream URLs, API tokens, or other secrets. Describe the visible error and the affected device/source behavior instead.
What information does the website support form store?
The support form stores the information you enter so the request can be handled. Clean WP Contacts anonymizes IP addresses by default, does not store browser user-agent data by default, and integrates with WordPress personal-data export and erasure tools. Site retention settings are controlled by the website administrator.
